Springtime has been busy at Lux Row Distillers™. Sunny skies and warmer temperatures have helped, as construction has been moving right along in the Bardstown countryside. The 20,000 square foot, six-story warehouse is now complete and ready to hold 20,000 barrels of Kentucky’s finest bourbon. In addition, both the hot and chilled water tanks, fermenters, beer well, and cookers have been installed. Lux Row Distillers cookers are 4,000 gallons each, and the fermenters have a capacity of 8,000 gallons each, standing at 18 feet tall. Meal bins have been installed and are ready to receive the key ingredients to make whiskey.

Process piping, the arteries of the distillery, have begun to take shape. These pipes play an important role by carrying the mash through a series of steps before the whiskey is ready for barrel aging.

“The equipment is looking great, and it is exciting to see all the progress made this spring to the distillery,” says Tony Kamer, Lux Row Distillers Operations Manager. “In addition to all the tank installations, all of the electrical main gear has been installed and is powered up. We are looking forward to a summer of lots of construction milestones and to see the distillery come together.”
