At a special luncheon in December, Luxco Sourcing Director Rick Angevine was honored with the 2023 Paul A. Lux Award.

The award was created in 2008 to honor the memory of Luxco’s founder and recognize outstanding achievements, dedication, integrity and commitment to the company. Nominated by his peers, Rick received the coveted award – a glass martini shaker engraved with his name – during a presentation hosted by former Luxco Chairman & CEO Donn Lux and MGP CEO David Bratcher, then Chief Operating Officer and President of Luxco.

Craig Chadbourne, Luxco’s Corporate Director – Supply Chain, had this to say about Rick: “Rick is a top-notch representation of what Luxco embodies: integrity, respect, commitment, hard work, having fun and doing the right thing. These qualities are at the core of the Luxco culture. Rick is Luxco through and through.”

As Luxco’s Sourcing Director – Branded Spirits, Rick is responsible or all in-house and third-party sourcing for spirits produced domestically, as well as for production of goods in Ireland and Mexico.

He leads all vendor and contract-management efforts and manages the entire procurement process from purchase to payment. Rick and his team ensure Luxco receives materials that meet strict quality standards, while bringing existing and new products to life to support the company’s business partners and consumers.

Receiving the award is a ‘huge honor,’ Rick says. “I know how much this award means to Donn and his family, so this is one of the proudest moments of my professional career.”

Rick joined Luxco in 2015 as a Material Sourcing Specialist. His solid background in the printing industry allowed him to adapt quickly to the branded spirits sourcing efforts – especially label sourcing. He continued to excel in this role and was promoted to Branded Spirits Sourcing Manager and ultimately to Branded Spirits Sourcing Director at the beginning of 2023.

“Rick is a great leader, and behind every great leader is a great team,” Craig added. “I am ecstatic he received the prestigious Paul A. Lux Award and feel it’s not only well-deserved but also represents the great work of the team he leads. I look forward to watching Rick and his team deliver excellence for many years to come.”

Not surprisingly, Rick says the favorite part of his job is “the people that make up this company. I believe a company’s success is on the people that make it up and a big reason for Luxco’s continued excellence.”
